What is a stretch ceiling system?

Stretch ceiling is a suspended ceiling system comprising of two basic components a perimeter track and lightweight membrane which stretches and clips into the track. Additionally, the system can be used for wall coverings, light diffusers, floating panels, exhibitions and creative shapes. Stretch ceilings allow incorporation of all types of light fixtures, recessed lighting, vents and sprinklers by use of an appropriate backend support.

Membrane

Our material is unique 0.2mm thick titanium based fully recyclable vinyl. The material comes in over 100 colors and finishes such as Matte, Satin, Lacquer (mirror like), Metallic, Suede, Perforated, and Translucent . The material can be printed or painted for additional effects, it is waterproof, washable, resistant to vapor, mold and rated as fire resistant class 1. The lightweight sheets are custom made from roll material to form any shape and size typically up to 400 square feet in one piece. Each panel incorporates an ultrasonically welded Harpoon Edge which clips into the track.

Track

We use aluminum non-corrosive track systems that is semi-concealed and allow us to create curves, domes, vaults and many other shapes. There are over a dozen of track configurations that help us achieve desired shapes.

Ceiling Installation Process

Here is how ceiling installation is done: the track is screw fixed to the walls, soffit, frame or some other form of rigid structure; a measurement is then taken for ordering the sheet material. Then all the necessary background supports for any lights, vents, sprinklers and etc. are installed. The measurements are converted to a CAD style drawing package allowing instant orders at the factory. The sheet material is made (approx. 7% smaller than the survey measurements) at the production facilities in France and shipped to us normally within 20-25 days. On site, the material is warmed up to 101 degrees F, stretched and using special spatula tools clipped into the tracking system. As a final step openings for recessed lighting, vents, sprinklers and etc. are cut out and reinforcing rings get welded to the membrane therefore allowing final fittings to be installed. Team of two professionals can complete up to 500 square feet of flat ceiling installation per day. All the hard work is always done behind the seen in our office and warehouse, the actual ceiling installation is fast, clean and efficient.
